Spotlight On ...Tran!

Tran first fell in love with rock music at age 8, way back in 1975 when he first heard KISS Alive! (much to the woe and dismay of his parents!) This little soldier in the KISS Army eventually picked up the 6 string in the early 80's when he first heard rap, and decided he needed to personally further the cause of rock and roll.

Over the next twenty some years, he proceeded to play with some of the better known bands from the Hazleton area all the way to New York. While enjoying success from playing with the likes of Electric Spark & Power (ESP), Ice Cold, Aftermath & Something Wet ...Tran always looked back with fondness to the 80's as his favorite decade of all time. Music, partying, clothes, hair, everything was bigger, wilder and crazier in those days!

Having developed a following of his own, with his blistering leads and crazy stage antics, Tran could not resist the call to play all that great music that inspired him to play guitar in the first place! After talking with Vick for 5 minutes, Tran auditioned the very next day ...and it was love at first jam!

Tran has a fanatical devotion to Steve Vai, Jem & double neck guitars, chocolate, leather, old mustangs, loud music and fans that play air guitar at our shows!

Favorite Bands: KISS, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, AC/DC, Dio, Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani and anything that features Steve Vai on guitar!
Favorite Foods: Steak, chocolate, ice cream, chocolate, spaghetti, chocolate, and ...did I mention chocolate?
Favorite Drinks: Fosters Lager, Lambrusco and Baileys Irish Cream
Favorite Songs: For the Love of God, Flying in a Blue Dream, the entire Van Halen I album, any pre-1980's KISS and too many more to mention!
Other interests:
Ruthie (oh yeah!), hard rock, muscle cars, art and my own comic strip
Favorite Monster: Godzilla (king of the rubber suit monsters)

What I love/miss about the 80's: Obviously, the music and the partying. I also liked the attitude of the 80's. People were pre-occupied with the idea of getting together, having a good time and making the world a better place to live in (look at Live Aid). The music was over the top, the shows were amazing and the rock stars were larger than life. For tunes from the greatest decade ever ...come see the Monsters of Rock, and you'll never be the same!
