Hazleton's very own Monsters of ROCK 80's Tribute Show has been handpicked for a double bill performance with Dallas, TX based Back in Black, arguably the top drawing AC/DC Tribute band in North America, according to press information obtained from the bands website. Back in Black was originally formed in 2001 by former Los Angeles, CA bandmates Mike Mroz and Darren Caperna, who when combined, bring an uncanny likeness and sound of AC/DC's Bon Scott, Angus Young and Brian Johnson to the stage. The band consistently performs to sold out venues from Puerto Rico to Toronto and recently performed for 36,000 fans in Fort Worth, TX. To the bands credit, they have been recruited by Sony Music and 20th Century Fox for various AC/DC promotional ventures. According to area native, and Monsters of ROCK drummer, Vick Lutsky, the local band was literally "chosen out of thin air after a performance in Frackville last month". Lutsky continued, "Back in Black added Frackville's Club Paparazzi to their NEPA club circuit at the last minute. There wasn't even another band on the bill. According to Club Paparazzi owner, Tom Burns, "I was convinced bringing the Hazleton band back in was like adding gasoline to a fire! These guys are going to be the next heavy hitters, and this is a great opportunity for them to get in front of what is expected to be, a very large crowd here in Schuylkill County." Members of the Monsters of ROCK! 80's Tribute Show have performed with a variety of national recording artists, including Vixen, Ratt, Dakota, Boston and Nazareth. Tickets are available for tonight's show, at the door. More information, including the bands local schedule can be found at: www.MonstersOfRock.info. | |||||
