National Act to Open for Local Band
Hazleton, Pennsylvania - After a powerhouse performance last month at Mahanoy Area High School, the Hazleton based 80's tribute band, Monsters of Rock, announced that the show will be returning to Schuylkill County for a single performance later this week.
The band, which includes Schuylkill County natives Ian Whitcomb and Cindie Ortiz (Gunderman) rocked Mahanoy City last month during a Memorial Day fund raiser for the new recreational center the borough plans to build.
"The show went off without a hitch", according to Monsters spokesperson and drummer Vick Lutsky (aka: Vikki Stixx) "It was great to see the folks coming out and supporting the efforts of their community, and having a rockin' time, too!"
"We're bringing the show to Frackvilles' Club Papparazzi on Friday, June 24th, and we're loaded for bear," continued Lutsky. Not only are we bringing in a brand new show, but we'll have some very special guests joining us on stage."
National recording act, X-Terra, based in Wilkes-Barre, PA will be performing a 1 hour opening set before the Monsters hit the stage, in the first of four shows scheduled for this Summer, to include both bands.
Bob Kachline, spokesperson and drummer for the band, explained, "we formed in 1985, and have spent the last twenty years performing our brand of original hard rock in venues throughout Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. The band also performs cover songs by Tesla, Kiss, Cheap Trick and Stryper.
Our original material has received accolades and airplay in twenty five states and fourteen countries. We're glad to join up with the Monsters this week in Frackville and help turn the town upside down!"
"We're looking forward to the show", commented Tom Burns, owner and manager of Club Paparazzi. The Monsters of Rock show has been here before and its always a good time. With both X-Terra and Monsters of Rock, on the bill this week, we're asking folks to get here early if they want to get a seat."
Lutsky reminds local fans, "they'll have two chances to catch the show in Hazleton next month at popular local venues Bottlenecks and Blasko's Cafe."
The two band mini-tour wraps up in August, at a benefit for Mountaintop cancer victim Chris Jones, at the Broadway Tavern.
