Hazleton, Pennsylvania -
"Well folks, the skies above NEPA might be a little gray, but I just passed the Red Buzzard Club in Harleigh and the fence is being erected, the generator was being set up, and it looks like they're getting ready for the anticipated 1000 strong crowd!"
That was the headline exactly 3 months ago today, just hours before the legendary local music festival was officially called off due to torrential rain!
With nearly a year of planning, Bill (Buzz) Arthur put his head in his hands, but only for a moment. After the initial dispair passed, word quickly spread that a re-schedule would be announced, and just a few weeks ago ...that date was published. Buzzstock 2006 would be held at Genetti's Best Western on Rt 309 in Hazleton, on Sunday, November 26, come rain, shine, hell or high water!
The bands were contacted, and with just a handful of changes, the roster was set. With his strong ties to the community, Buzz felt strongly that two of the areas hottest local bands close the show. Not only did he choose two of the areas finest, but both YMI and Monsters of Rock have donated their time and resources to many great causes over the years, and Buzz is always one to give a little back!
The fact is, not only have the two bands done plenty on their own, but they have shared the stage on several occasions at various venues and benefits. When it came down to the two, Joe Molinaro, lead guitar player for YMI, didn't hesitate for a second when he said to Monsters drummer Vick Lutsky ..."you guys take it this time."
"They are a class act", continued Lutsky, "I'm proud to know everyone in YMI and would return the gesture without pause."
And with that, the final bands were set in place.
The doors open at 3PM and the first band hits the stage at 4. With TWO stages, there will not be ANY breaks... nothing but NON-STOP music til 1AM!
With over a dozen of the areas finest bands performing tomorrow and we want to have our fans help us make a Monster Show of Force tomorrow at Buzzstock!
Make sure you wear your Monster T-shirt all day long at the event! And, when you see any one of us from the band, you'll get a free pass to next weeks show at The Other Side in Freeland, where we'll be debuting several new tunes!
