If you're a big fan of music from the 80's, First Night Hazleton has something for you!

Monsters of Rock, brings together both veteran musicians, and some new comers to the local music scene in an action packed show centered around the glam and hair bands of the decade of decadence!

The band is the brainchild of drummer Vick Lutsky, well known in the region from 80's rock bands such as Valhalla and Dirty Tryxx. "The goal was to find like minded musicians who had a taste for this special genre of music, as well as the flare to pull it off", commented Lutsky, who founded the band in March of this year.

"With two talented lead vocalists, we provide an uncommon diversity of song selection! Cindie Ortiz, has been performing as a solo artist for the last several years throughout NEPA, performing at a wide variety of regional events, covering Pat Benetar, Heart and Vixen.

Our male lead vocalist, Dan Dorson, hails from several popular Harrisburg area bands, picks up the AC/DC, Judas Priest and Bon Jovi like there's no tomorrow!", continued Lutsky.

The 7 pc lineup is rounded out by Erich Stiller (bass guitar), Jim Feeney (keyboards), Ian Whitcomb (rhythm guitar) and newcomer to the band, Ron Czarnecki (lead guitar) formerly of the all original hard rock group Lockness from the Reading area.

The band is focused primarily on music from the glam and hair bands that were so exciting to watch and listen to in the 80's. Poison, Heart, Bon Jovi, Joan Jett and Kiss just to name just a few. "Of course we do a few songs from the 70's and 90's, but our heart is without a doubt, in the 80's! Our motto is, if it didn't happen between '75 and '95, it probably didn't really happen", joked Ortiz.

"Fans of the local music scene will be pleased to find out, we're not just more of the same. Our action packed show is accented with 80's costumes and a variety of special effects that made those performances so exciting!", continued Lutsky.

The band just finished recording its 4 song demo, which includes covers of popular 80's artists such as Ozzy Osbourne, Lita Ford and Def Leppard, which will be available for interested club owners sometime in the next few weeks.

"We did an invitational only preview of the New Years show last month, which was very well received, and we're very excited about bringing this performance to First Night Hazleton. Its an all ages event, so anyone can come to the show! That makes it convenient for folks who might not ordinarily come out to an event like this, to pack the kids in the car and join us! Since First Night is an all ages event, the band will hold an encore performance Saturday, January 8th at Bottlenecks Saloon in West Hazleton for those who miss the New Years Eve show," concluded Lutsky.
